Waukesha WI, January 30, 2015 – Benjamin Franklin once said, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest,” and he was spot on. Educating future workers is one of the best ways to ensure a better tomorrow. Midwest Engineered Systems Inc., an innovative provider of premier custom machines and integrated systems, showed its appreciation for eager minds by hosting facility tours for Middle School students.
Midwest Engineered Systems welcomed 25 students from North Lake Middle School on January 30, 2015 to inspire students, parents, and educators to consider careers in manufacturing and engineering. Midwest Engineered Systems discussed job positions, such as mechanical and electrical engineering, automation technicians, and mechanical and electrical technicians. Tour guides provided insight on typical duties and expectations of each profession, along with an overview of the manufacturing corporate culture.
The students also toured Midwest Engineered System’s new 100,000 sq ft facility where they were able to see these jobs in action first hand. The students encountered the 20,000 sq ft machine shop, 20,000 sq ft “clean” assembly area, 45,000 sq ft high-bay assembly area, a UL panel shop, paint booth, fabrication & welding shop, and engineering offices.
These tours were aimed to help students understand the variety of careers that exist in engineering and manufacturing today.
